If you've got an eye exam penciled in for some time soon, there are a few things you can do to be extra ready for it. If you want to make sure your exam is effective and worthwhile, there are several facts we will need from you.

It is crucial that you let us know about any present health problems you are experiencing because eyes are often affected by changes in your body. What are the sorts of things we'd need to be informed of? Here are a few examples: diabetes, pregnancy, high blood pressure or allergies.

The more we know about your lifestyle, the better. For example, are you a smoker? Do you drink? Tell us how you use your eyes everyday. Do you work in a factory, or do you sit at a computer the entire day? Being informed of this information can help us to determine your vision correction needs.

As a number of eye-related conditions are hereditary, it's important that you tell us about any of them in your immediate family, especially glaucoma or macular degeneration. It's easy to understand what it's a lot easier to keep an eye out for certain signs when we already know which conditions you may be susceptible to.

Make an appointment if you are aware of anything strange about your eyes and vision including double vision, blurriness, flashes of light or spots. With the information we have about your history, coupled with our expertise, we'll figure out what's behind the symptom, and then recommend the most appropriate treatment plan. Another thing that will help us provide a thorough exam are your most recent pair of glasses. They give us valuable information, even if you wear contact lenses. Together, we will find out the most efficient way to resolve your vision needs.

We are back! We are now open to our normal business hours. Please request an appointment here or call 604-670-3329. Learn more about what to expect at your appointment or telehealth appointments. We are looking forward to seeing you again. Thank you, and stay safe.
